RUGBY UNION Rugby World Cup Final 1995. South Africa v New Zealand, Ellis Park Stadium, 24 June 1995. Gerald de Kock
What's Included
Description
A print of Gerald de Kock's original commentary notes from the 1995 Rugby World Cup Final match between South Africa and New Zealand at Ellis Park Stadium on 24 June 1995.
Why we love this sheet...This was the final that transcended sport. It was 9-9 after normal time with Joel Stransky and Andrew Merhtens having kicked all of their respective team's points but it was Stransky who would drop the wining goal in extra time. Nelson Mandela, wearing a Springbok jersey, presented the Web Ellis trophy to Francois Pienaar in what has become one of sport's most symbolic and enduring images.
