Starting as a racing driver himself, competing against David Coulthard and Mika Häkkinen in Euro Vauxhall Lotus, Ben Edwards moved into commentary after teaching racing at Brands Hatch. His career spans Eurosport's Formula One coverage in the 1990s, Champ Car racing across the Atlantic, ITV's British Touring Car Championship, before becoming BBC's lead F1 commentator in 2012. He continued at Channel 4 until 2020, then joined F1TV's worldwide output in 2022, and took on Formula E commentary in 2023.
